Welcome to the Tortured Hero blog hop. I'm excited, as always, to be a part of this exciting event. And who doesn't love a good tortured hero story? I know I'm a sucker for one. In my latest book, The Princes Knighted, Hugh is just such a character. When he's chosen to escort Sara, the princess' sister to her wedding, he is doubly damned. First off because he's fighting the feelings he's always had for his childhood friend. Secondly, because he learns a devastating secret that will threaten his family and his kingdom. As the orphaned son of a knight, Hugh is raised by his grandfather and aunt. He appears in the first book of the series as a seventeen year old army recruit. By the time his story rolls around, he is twenty-one and has been knighted by the Noventian prince. Years of fighting in a bloody rebellion has turned the once-cheerful lad into a hardened warrior. But one look from Sara, the princess' sister, just may bring him to his knees.
Hugh d'Acry is quite easily my favorite character in The Princes series. He's featured in the first three books and will make a reappearance in the fifth, and final, installment. Keep an eye out for the fourth in the series, The Princes Wanted, where a handsome duke and an intriguing highwaywoman clash.
